About CNA Roadmap
CNA Roadmap is a set of plain-English guides to becoming and working as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) in the United States. They cover the whole route: what nursing assistants do, how training works and what it costs, the competency exam, each state's nurse aide registry and rules, renewing and moving a certificate, and the healthcare careers a CNA can move on to.
Who writes the guides
The guides are written by the CNA Roadmap team.
How the guides are made
- Every rule, hour count and fee is checked against the official source (a state's nurse aide registry or health department, the exam provider's candidate handbook, or federal law), and the sources are listed on each page.
- Rules change, so fees and figures are quoted with the date we checked them.
- We share career information, not medical advice, and we don't run, review or rank training programs.
- Each guide shows the date it was last updated.
